Welcome to Experiments in Monotype Printing! Come learn a wonderful form of printmaking, no experience necessary. We will be experimenting with different methods of creating images on plexiglass plates with ink, watercolors, and oil pastels. We will also explore creating impressions of objects and different ways to create textures. This workshop is an excellent way to play and get your creative juices flowing. We will be creating one of a kind, one off pieces hence why it’s called monotype printing. This method of printmaking lends itself towards layering and we will play with different techniques to layer images and color. You will leave this workshop with a set of prints of your own creation and a basic understanding of print practices like color mixing and how to use a printing press.
